Pui-sze LING was born in Guangzhou, China in 1989 and moved to Hong Kong in 1997. She graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree, receiving the Wucius Wong Creative Ink Painting Award at graduation in 2012.
Ling's solo exhibitions include Metamorphosis (Ch’ien Mu Library, New Asia College, CUHK, Hong Kong, 2012) and It all begins in the Sea (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2014). Joint exhibitions include Under • Line (Rotterdam Edition) (Wolfart Projectspace, the Netherlands, 2019) and Women + Ink | China + Hong Kong (Alisan Fine Arts, Hong Kong, 2019).
Ling uses a variety of media, and the gradually focuses on ink painting and collage, experimenting with different ink effects on canvas. Natural organic forms and the characteristics of insects, animals and other organisms are inspiration in her installation and mixed media artwork.
